Higher education in Alba-Iulia

AISTEDA is a private university set up in 1990, aiming at offering an alternative to public higher education.

The Alba-Iulia University Centre of AISTEDA was created in 1991. In Alba-Iulia, there are three operating faculties: Law, Management, Finance and Accounting

The study period is 4 years for full time students, and 5 years for part time students.

The academic body comes from the traditional university centres such as Bucharest, Cluj, Sibiu, and there are also local academics recruited from the experts of the area and bright young graduates.

The three faculties were authorised to function temporarily by the Decision of the Government no. 225 / May 1996, and in June, 16, 2000 meeting, the National Council for Academic Evaluation and Acreditation has forwarded to the Parliament its accreditation proposal for AISTEDA as university.

The total number of students is approx. 1000.

Facilities

The place inspires a unique mixture of history and modern age. The presence of the students is bringing a fresh breath to the streets of this city, deeply involved in the Romanians' history.
The AISTEDA facilities are situated in the central area of Alba-Iulia. AISTEDA owns a two-floor location on the Transilvaniei Bld., but also uses rented facilities in the buildings of "Proiect S.A." (where is located also the administration).
